I’m a metal and fused glass artist. I work in sculpture and jewelry. My work is contemporary in design, yet traditional in execution. Teaching Jewelry Art at Sierra College is one of my joys, and having a happy life is essential.
Classes: Repoussé and Chasing
The June class has been cancelled. Check back here; we’ll keep you informed when it’s rescheduled.
The art of repoussé has been used throughout history. Simply put, it is the push and pull of metal, using punches and a chasing hammer. In this class, create your own piece of repousé jewelry or art. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (no sandals). Limited to 6. Class fee of $125 includes materials to make your repoussé piece, and lunch: Chinese chicken salad, chips and cookies. Please bring water or your favorite drink.
Supply list: If you have needle nose and chain nose pliers, end- or side-snips, a ball-peen or chasing hammer and punches, please bring them. If you do not have tools, they will be supplied. If you have designs you want to work on, bring them to class. Designs should be no bigger than 1 ½” by 1 ½”.
Instructor contact: k.oliverdesigns@att.net or any Wednesday 10–4 at High Hand Gallery. Please call to make sure I’m available. 916.259.4298.
