Lauren Lane grew up in a small Colorado town, just over the hill from Aspen, and has always known and appreciated the wealth and beauty of trees. Using this knowledge and appreciation for the beauty of wood as an artist, he turns only one-of-a-kind pieces, constantly experimenting with various methods and designs. His segmented turnings explore exotic woods from South America and Africa, as well as all the varied natural woods of the United States.

Lauren spent much of his life teaching woodworking to teenagers in the California schools. He received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Industrial Arts, with an emphasis in woodworking. After retiring from a public school teaching career, Lauren now works full-time on his woodturning art.

He is an active participant in the American Association of Woodturners. Lauren’s work has been shown at the AAW conventions in St. Paul, Minnesota, Tacoma, Washington, Charlotte, South Carolina, and Pasadena, California. Before moving to Lincoln he showed at the Art and Wine Festivals in Mountain View, Fremont, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, and King’s Mountain at Woodside.

We saw your fabulous wood vases at the “High Hand” gallery and would like to see other works you may have in photo form, displayed on a your web site or whatever you may have for sale through the gallery. We missed the opportunity to purchase your work when we were at the gallery, as we were with friends, and on a schedule. We are very interested in purchasing your work for our private collection.
